The
monitoring section describes the monitoring equipment and
provides recent results from the various monitoring
stations. Following the cessation of plant operations in August 2003 PKC reviewed the environmental monitoring for the site in consultation with the EPA, DIPNR and WCC to develop a program appropriate to the reduced activity during the care and maintenance period. PKC will continue to undertake dust deposition monitoring at three locations during the care and maintenance period, along with HVAS monitoring at the Old Port Kembla Fire Station. Monitoring requirements will be reviewed periodically with the appropriate regulators.
